In June of 2011, Dr. David Stacy put on a “eye clinic” for Casa Esperanza para Ninos. Dr. Stacy and his three interns were able to perform vision screenings, diagnoses for glasses and/or surgery and helped us formulate a treatment plan for our children with vision needs. This was such a blessing to Casa Esperanza and we send our heart felt thanks to Dr. David Stacy and his team!! Watch Video

Dear Friends of Casa Esperanza para Niños / House of Hope for Children.

Thank you for the incredible contributions you have made to our foundation this year. Although the challenges are immense, 2009 has been the most exciting and rewarding year in the lives of our children and organization to date! We would like to share with you excerpts from actual experiences as told by two people who have recently visited our Casa Rancho in Mexico. We hope they will provide insight into our work and touch your hearts as they did ours…

"All I can tell you is that the eyes of these children both haunt and warm my heart. The sad lives they came from are heartbreaking but I have literally seen miraculous transformations in many of the children after being cared for and loved. They are not just surviving- they are thriving."
Quote / / after a recent visit to the Ranch in Mexico.

"I went down this weekend for a meeting of the operations committee and most of our time was spent listening to Ramon, our on site administrator and first ‘Dad’, share stories of victory and other stories where kids’ lives and futures are hanging in the balance. The most difficult thing for me was when he told of the children he had to turn away due to lack of space. We have a government ready to turn their unwanted children over to us to raise them to be whole individuals who have the opportunity to reach their potential, and we can't accept them for lack of space. I'm sure you understand how the pleas of those children keep us awake at night."
Quote / Paul Plumb / Chair of Operations in Mexico

The stories each of our children could tell of abuse and neglect are heartbreaking. They come to us with fresh scars and bruises from beatings, cigarette burns, often broken bones and sad, empty eyes. You can give a child bread, but there is a much deeper hunger in his soul for love. And this is exactly what makes Casa so special. Seeing the transformation that takes place in our children‘s spirits is believing in the power of Love. There is no higher calling and no greater reward. The physical scars eventually heal, but the emotional scars are embedded deep in their souls. Their only hope is love. Although we cannot take away their pain, we can hold their hands and dry their tears and we can love.

Our home for children in Mexico is only a small model of the hope that exists in the world, but we believe we are making a powerful difference in the lives of our children. Our current building project will ensure that we will be able to help many more children. Please remember us this year when you make your year-end tax-deductible charitable donations. May joy and peace be with you and yours this holiday season!

Sincerely,
Adonna Cullumber
